DescriptionPartners for Climate Protection (PCP) is a national program that brings Canadian municipal governments together to reduce the local production of greenhouse gas emissions. DescriptionThe Passion for Action Challenge covers energy use, energy efficiency and the basics of Climate Change. Used with the Eco-Choices One Tonne Challenge lab, an interactive science tool of a simulated household, the Challenge guides students through investigative and thought-provoking activities related to household energy use, how energy use choices impact the environment, and what to do about it. During the program, students examine their family's energy use, the equivalent GHG emissions of common household devices, and their own personal behavior patterns. This enables them to make changes around the house to lower GHG emissions. The program complements the Federal Government’s Climate Change Plan and the One Tonne Challenge Program. DescriptionScrap-It is an air-emissions reduction program designed to take older, high-polluting vehicles off the road. Owners of vehicles manufactured prior to 1984 which meet the qualifying criteria, can choose to scrap their vehicle and receive one of three types of incentive compensations. The cars are then recycled according to environmental guidelines.
